Having a dog does not only mean having a beautiful and furry individual to play with, a dog is not a toy, and it is a living being with conscience, feelings, intelligence and rights. Therefore we must respect him, take care of him, and value him like any other individual.
If you have a dog at home, you should keep in mind that raising a dog implies a great responsibility. You can’t just adopt a puppy, and let him have his way until he gets spoiled. Or worse yet, you can’t get rid of your dog when, as a result of your not educating him, he developed negative behavior.

To avoid such problems and situations, I’ll show you everything I did to learn how to train my dog. For me it was a bit difficult at first, especially since we knew what to do. But now that I have the necessary knowledge, I will teach you everything I learned to know how to train my dog.

You can apply this type of advice in the case of wanting to educate or re-educate a dog. Remember not to get carried away by the myth that says that a mature dog cannot be educated. It does not matter if your dog is a baby or if he is already several years old, you can discipline him and teach him to behave properly at home. Follow the instructions below.

What do you need:

• Toilet
• Dog toys
• Dog food
• Newspaper
• Belt
• Dog

Instructions

1. Regardless of his age, he begins to set limits inside and outside the house. When we do not educate our dogs well and we do not show them what attitudes they should avoid, these become behavior habits that can be negative. For example, if your dog once bit a cat and you didn’t scold him, this behavior is likely to repeat itself. Teach him what attitudes to avoid, and what attitudes are appropriate.

2. Teach him that inside the house he is not the alpha male. Both males and females are instinctual, which is why they may be possessive of their territory and their place in the house. Show your pet that you are the alpha male and that he has to respect the other individuals who live in the house equally, whether they are other pets or family members. Any time your dog tries to call out another pet, scold him for the behavior and keep your demeanor.

3. Teach him to be clean. Educate your dog so that he can relieve himself in the right place. If you want your dog to go to the bathroom only when you take him out of the house, you will have to take your dog three to five times a day to relieve himself outside the house, when he does it outside the house you should reward him, and if he does it inside the house you must suppress him, but do not be aggressive, or he will think that defecating is bad and could get very sad, just show him that the place where he should do it is outside and reward him when he does it.

4. Choose the cleaning mode you want your dog to follow. If you don’t want your dog to leave the house to relieve him, teach him how to do it on newspaper. For this, when you notice that your dog wants to relieve himself, take him on several open newspapers, so the dog will learn that this is his place to defecate. In case you choose this method, it is not recommended that you use the walk method, choose a definitive method between the two mentioned.

5. It is important to know how to identify the signs that indicate that our dog wants to go to the bathroom. When your dog gets anxious, spins in circles, sniffs the ground, lifts a paw, or plants his buttocks on the ground, this may mean your dog is about to have a bowel movement. At this precise moment is when they should take it to the place you determined as your dog’s bathroom.

6. Teach him to eat and respect the food of others. If your dog asks you for food frequently while you eat, without becoming violent or being very rude, you have to repress that attitude. Choose a word to tell him to go away while he eats. The word can be “out”, “long”, “retiree”, or whatever you choose, but be very clear that it must be a definitive word, not a phrase, so your dog can identify that phoneme and understand that it should retire.

7. Feed your dog as many times as the vet tells you are necessary and always following a fixed schedule. Except for small dogs that require eating more often, if your dog is no longer so small, set a fixed time for your dog’s meals, for example, at 11 am and 11 pm. This will build discipline and help you control his eating habits. Of course, always provide the amount of food necessary for your dog so that it does not go hungry.

8. Always make sure your dog has a bowl of fresh, clean water to drink from. It is important that the water is fresh and new every day, as dogs do not like to drink hot water. If you have water left over from the day before, use it to water your plants, so nothing is wasted and you can freely change your dog’s water.

9. Teach him to live with other dogs and other animals so as not to create a jealous attitude. Dogs need to live with other animals to develop a conscious and empathetic attitude and not become selfish or aggressive with other animals.

Tips

Play with your dog, pamper him and always share a moment a day for him. Your dog is not a robot that does everything you order him to do, obeying is not his reason for him in life or the reason he was born, but it is good that he understands which attitudes are acceptable and which are not. Your dog is someone who will love you very much and will always be faithful to you, share a moment with your dog every day to cuddle him, pamper him and have fun with him. This will not only make the emotional ties between you and your pet closer, but it will also help you have a stable and happy mood that will give your dog a better quality of life.
