Hot or temperate water fish are, above all, very attractive. Very colorful, very beautiful and can be kept at home in aquariums. They will always shine because of their colorful colors.Angel fish or also popularly known as scalar fish (they are really the same), are easy to maintain fish to keep in fish tanks, they live for many years if they are cared for and fed well and they are very beautiful.

Instructions

  1. They are water fish at a suitable temperature. They are warm water fish so keep an eye on the thermometer.
  2. The water temperature should never drop below 23 degrees Celsius. Always ask in the store when you buy the fish.
  3. Angel fish are in warm seas and rivers, they are found in the South American area.
  4. Angelfish are from the cichlid family.
  5. They are fish that live for many years with good care. They can live between seven and nine years.
  6. The measurements of these fish are not small… we must bear in mind that they are around fifteen centimeters (more or less) and between males and females, the difference is not remarkable either.
  7. When it comes to feeding, you should know that you should not give them too much food. Watch out for this. Be careful not to overdo it and add too much.
  8. Give them the rations and do it twice a day. They eat the dry food that they sell in pet stores, for fish. As prizes, treats and more, you can feed them the bloodworms (if you have any questions, ask the seller or the store).
  9. The females are the ones in charge of hiding their eggs and leaving them in camouflaged corners, so that they are not eaten by other fish. What they usually do is leave their eggs among the rocks or among the plants, and as a peculiarity, the eggs of this species are a bit sticky, so they “stick” on their own.
  10. They can lay many eggs. Minimum one hundred and odd and maximum up to four hundred eggs.

What do you need:

Buy a fish tank/aquarium that is medium to large or very large if you have the opportunity. They are fish that need space and are large.

Always ask the seller when buying in the store, about the liters of water that the aquarium should have so that these fish can live perfectly and do not end up dying due to lack of space, poor quality of life, oxygen…

The minimum liters that the fish tank should have are at least 55 liters of water. How can you calculate the number of liters of water for them to live well? Be careful of the size of the aquarium and the amount of these fish that you are going to have. If you are buying more than one, you will need to double the amount of water.

You must have a perfect or very good condition of the fish tank filter. It is very important. If the filter is very powerful it can cause damage to this species of fish, the filter must be adjusted (Always ask the store salesperson). Similarly, monitor the quality of the water.

The water must be clean at all times. Surely, as with other species that also need the same care, a volume of water in the fish tank must be changed. It is emptied a little and refilled with fresh, clean water. This should be done if all goes well, every fortnight.

Prevent bacteria, mold, dirt from being generated at the bottom of the aquarium… either clean the aquarium thoroughly every month or choose to buy fish that help clean the bottom, the walls of the aquarium, eat the remains of food that are scattered by the water… and different devices that help clean the crystals on the inside and outside.

In general, they are easy fish to care for.

Tips

They are docile fish that is to say, be careful with the companies that you put them in the fish tank…because they will not end well. If you want to avoid greater evils, always ask them in the store, the fish you are going or want to place together. Because you can’t all live together.

Specifically, these poor things are not aggressive, quite the opposite, rather. They are very peaceful fish; very calm … therefore, so that there are no problems, you should try to make the other fish equally peaceful. For example, catfish would be very good companions for angelfish. They are peaceful fish, but are careful; they can also become super aggressive and attack other fish. Therefore, it is better that they are fish of the same type and do not feel attacked or bothered.

The care that these fish need is not relatively difficult. It will only suffice, with desire and patience. Fish, although they require little care, are living beings and need to be fed and cared for. If you are going to give fish to the little ones in the house, you have to keep in mind that they must have their obligations with the fish and be responsible.
To take care of them correctly, it will only be enough to have a time routine (twice a day in the morning and at night), control the cleanliness of the filter and regulate it and the water must be cleaned properly.

As for the way these fish reproduce, it is the females who choose their males.
In the case of this family of fish, what they do is look at the males that are more aggressive. That gets their attention. Basically, they think the same as other species of animals. They believe that if they are very aggressive, they will have more success in fertilizing and if they are calmer, they will have less.

Although they may be simple beliefs, the truth is that many experts on these issues have proven that it is true or at least, the males that have been more aggressive, when it comes to caring for the eggs, have made many more survive. Than the calmer and more carefree males have achieved.

They can lay many eggs. Minimum one hundred and odd and maximum up to four hundred eggs.

Angel fish can also be saltwater (not just freshwater) and in these cases, when placing them in a fish tank, care must be taken so that they do not suffer and die. Always to remove them from the aquarium it will be necessary to do it carefully, putting them in a plastic bag that we will previously put in the water so that the fish gets inside. Because if we try to catch it with a net or the typical net/bag shovels, they will get caught with it. Because they have many spines on their body.

When they live in the sea, they are always in the reef areas. Therefore, they are in tropical areas such as the Pacific, the Indian Ocean… saltwater fish are a little smaller in size and, in general, they are not usually in the depths.

There are many subspecies of angelfish. For example: the emperor angelfish, queen angelfish, llama angelfish, saltwater angelfish and freshwater angelfish.

The ones that usually attract the most attention are the famous emperor fish. What are the blue ones, very intense sky blue, yellow… they usually have them in aquariums with exotic fish of the same type and they really are a real wonder. Those who have been able to see them in the sea, freely, snorkeling will have seen how precious they are. And the other would be the queen angel. They are also completely yellow, but it seems that the entire relief of the body is bordered in an intense blue and the area of the head and eyes are outlined in the same color. They really are very striking.

Always place areas that imitate reefs with coral stones and rocky areas so that they can lay their eggs and be able to make offspring, in case you want to do so. But it will also come in handy so that they can hide, isolate themselves whenever they want… Always buy them at pet stores, they are quality stones. Do not do it to economize and save money in imitation or low quality stores, because they release many toxic substances for fish and in the end, you can poison the water, make the fish sick, cause diseases that spread fungi…

With plants, more of the same… in the event that you decide to include them choose the ones that you like or are most convenient. Ask the experts to recommend if artificial plants or natural ones are better. Of course, always be careful and that the plants are not prone to proliferating snails, bugs, fungi… ask because there are many fish that do not get along with some plants and, in addition, they can cause you more problems than advantages in the long run.

With these tips, simply enjoy these beautiful fish because they are a real show and at night, with the simple lighting of the fish tank and the striking colors of the fish, it is a real blast.
