Instructions to take care of Bull Terrier dogs

  1. First of all, you should know that to avoid the aggressive behavior of the Bull Terrier, a severe education is necessary from a very young age so that its strong temperament is controlled from puppyhood. The fundamental key is to offer him a mix between affection and education; thus, he will be a very sensitive companion dog and capable of adapting to the mood of his owner.
  2. With regard to food, it should be borne in mind that it is very important to feed your dog well during the early stages of life. The growth of a puppy is a phase of great changes and at a very high rate. For all this, a very specific diet is needed; try to use specialized feed for the Bull Terrier breed and adapted to its age -as a puppy it is very important-. You must adapt the amount of food to their needs and their exercise. You can increase and decrease the amount according to their weight; you must control your dog’s obesity a lot.
  3. Water; It is very important that they always have water at their disposal. You must have a bowl solely intended to put the water. Thus, check that you always have fresh and clean If you live in a very large place, you can choose to put two bowls -one next to the food and another in the garden or patio, for example-. We also recommend that you do not move the water and food containers from their usual place, therefore, first of all choose which will be your unique place and from here do not modify it.
  4. The Bull Terrier is a breed that needs a lot of exercise; you should take him out 3-4 times a day so he can go for walks and relieve himself outside the house. In the same way, you can take your dog for a walk once a day in a relaxed and calm way for half an hour or even an hour and the rest of the time take it out more quickly only to relieve itself. Keep in mind that it is very important that you leave at more or less stipulated  and regular times divided throughout the day -for example: morning, afternoon and night-.
  5. This breed of dog is very agile and fast, so it needs constant physical activity. Keep in mind that he loves to play sports outdoors and take long walks in the countryside and mountains. Thus, you can resort to playing sports together once or twice a week -going for a run, hiking in the mountains, and excursions to lakes, etc.-.
  6. Although it is a breed that does not require constant haircuts, you should brush your Bull Terrier once a week. In this way you will prevent it from losing a little hair; an important aspect if you live inside a house or flat. On the other hand, you can take it to the hairdresser once every 3 or 4 months so that they do general hygienic care: hair, bath, ears, nails, etc.
  7. If you don’t want to take it to the hairdresser, you can bathe your dog yourself; thus, you should do it every 6 or 7 weeks. At the same time, cut the nails and clean the ears and teeth of your Bull Terrier.
  8. You should take it to the vet periodically, especially during the first few months, since that is when all the necessary vaccinations should be given. In this line, you should always resort to an external anti-parasitic -there are pipettes, pills, collars, etc.-. You can use the one you prefer but you should always have one on.

Tips for taking care of Bull Terrier dogs

  • We recommend that from a very young age you put your Bull Terrier in contact with  other dogs -all of them always vaccinated-. Dogs must interact with each other, so they play and become more sociable and docile. In the same way, they will burn energy and have a great time.
