Dogs are perhaps the closest beings to humans. They are capable of making us feel like better people. They give us company when we are lonely, sick and sad; they are always there for us. They are grateful, loving, caring, and willing to lay down their lives for human beings. They are so intelligent that they can detect bombs, sniff out drugs from far away, and studies have found that they can detect diseases in humans that have yet to be discovered by scientists.

What are you capable of doing for your dog? It is not enough just to feed them and give them a roof to sleep. They require a lot of care and attention. They get sick very easily. In some cases they are easy to detect diseases but there are others that we cannot see with the naked eye and we have to be very aware of them to realize that they are sick.

Scabies

Also known as scabies, it is a disease that is characterized by appearing specifically on the skin and is caused by a parasite. It is an easy disease to identify since it develops with the naked eye, it is frequent and it is easily transmitted. Lack of hygiene is one of the most likely causes of this disease being acquired.

Scabies can be found in humans and animals, in all of them it is shown in the same way.  This has five to fifteen days to develop once the contagion is present and can occupy all corners of the body.

Scabies symptoms

This begins with a skin rash and strong itching and uncontrollable burning, and can even feel like a tear in the skin. At night the symptoms become stronger. If an infection came from this rash, there may be a clinical picture with fever, otherwise not.

How to identify mange in a dog:

In dogs, mange is common. Sometimes we are careless about their hygiene. In the summer the disease develops faster. These little animals tend to lose weight, they scratch themselves very often and even their hair falls out. They can get to raise the skin with their nails from the brutality with which they scratch due to the strong itching they feel. It is very easy for them to acquire strong infections as a result of this disease.

At a glance and easily. If you see your dog with hair loss, you see blisters on his skin, redness in that area and he scratches frequently, don’t waste time. Every minute that passes is important since the parasite can occupy the entire body. It reproduces very easily and attacks even its intimate parts.

Treatment

This parasite, like so many others, is very difficult to combat, which is why a strong treatment is required. Bactericides or scabicides are applied; these help heal the skin and reduce itching. As this disease is presented as allergic symptoms, a dose of some antihistamine should be administered to the animal, I would specifically recommend diphenhydramine.  You must have strict hygiene with the animal and in its resting place. These treatments are usually applied for five to seven days, rest for a week and apply again for three days.

Tips for Identifying Mange in Dogs

The main thing as I mentioned earlier is to have good hygiene. The first thing you should do with your pet in case you detect any of the aforementioned symptoms is:

  1. Bathe it with warm or hot water in a way that the animal can stand.
  2. Peel the affected area.
  3. Apply the bactericide or scarified directly to the affected area.
  4. Administer diphenhydramine orally.

Look, this does not mean that you bathe him with boiling, hot water, so that you can touch it without hurting yourself or him. You peel the area that you see affected so that you can apply the bactericide directly to the skin and this also helps to prevent the hair from infecting the area. The antihistamine is going to help him deal with that burning and itching he’s feeling a bit and it’s going to keep him sedated. It is advisable to fumigate it since this bacterium develops very quickly and it is possible that while you are treating one area, the parasite is already staying in another.

Generals.

I can tell you that this disease developed by a bacterium is so strong that we not only find it in humans and animals, even plants can get scabies. Like many other diseases, this one is also very old.

Take care of your pet, he will thank you. It is up to you that your family is healthy. I hope that with all this you can identify if your dog has scabies. Remember that your family also depends on the care you give it, since your dog is one more member.
